Perseverance Works welcomes food hub and Eastside is now home to a weekly community with food parcels donated by local businesses. Run by local charity Children With Voices, whose mission is to give children the skills they need to stay fit and healthy, the food hub will support Hackney residents in need through these challenging times with free food parcels and, where available, hot lunches.
The hub is open on Thursdays from 2pm and closes between 4-4.30pm. To comply with social distancing rules, visitors will be given food packages from the entrance of 37 Hackney Road.
Michelle Dornelly, CEO of Children with Voices, said of her first day at the hub last week: ‘We were very happy with how our first day went. Even the shop-keeper on Hackney Road is supporting us, and let me put a flyer on his wall. Our volunteers all found their way around and were very thankful for the teas that were left available for us by Perseverance Works!’

The charity also runs holiday clubs for children aged 5-11 that teach them how to keep fit and healthy. For more information on the Jumping Beans holiday clubs, visit their website.
