Local businesses clubbed together last week to host an event in the Perseverance Works courtyard in aid of Hackney City Farm.
On 17 September, PW was home to an evening of craft cider, craft beer, natural soft drinks and fried chicken. Fund the Farm raised £1080.30, all of which will go towards helping the farm remain free for all visitors.
Music from the brilliant BOOM La TETE and Silencer underscored the event, which included special guest appearances from donkeys Clover and Larry and a beautiful print sale held by Central Illustration Agency.
Chris Pounds, manager of the farm, said: “Thanks to the good folk at Hoxton Cidersmiths for organising a fundraiser for the Farm. A balmy night in the courtyard at the unique Perseverance Works with Hackney Brewery, Dalston Cola, Bird Restaurant and Central Illustrations raised over £1,000. It was a great night and the money will really help us at the Farm. Big thanks to everyone involved!”
Hackney City Farm welcomes more than 75,000 visitors each year. A big reduction in its grant has made the farm’s no entrance fee policy increasingly difficult.
The farm is still fundraising! If you would like to support this fantastic feature of our community, please consider making a donation here.
A huge thanks to Hoxton Cidersmiths, Bird, Dalston Cola, Hackney Brewery, BOOM La TETE, Silencer and Central Illustration Agency.
