Central Illustration Agency held a print sale in the courtyard on Friday in aid of Hackney Pirates. The sale raised a whopping £1,254 for the charity – and with a few IOUs outstanding and the shop at 17b open for the rest of the week, that figure could yet grow!
PW tenants and their plus ones were treated to the musical delights of Crispin, Josh and Khagen as they gobbled down BIRD’s palatable poultry, washed down with local ale. Thank you!
A big thank you also goes to Nina and Alice for organising the raffle, with brilliant prizes from Dishoom, Butchers Salon, Bench, BIRD and Davy’s wine bar and PK for being our MC.
Hackney Pirates were over the moon. Catriona sent this message: “We’re so grateful to everyone at Perseverance Works for the HUGE donation you raised for us through your print sale. This is a really big step for us in helping us scale up our learning programmes next year to support local young people in developing their literacy, confidence and perseverance. With your support we’ll be running learning sessions every day after school in our Ship of Adventures in Dalston, where young people will be working on our unique creative publishing projects, like our Guidebook to Hackney. We invite you all to come and visit us at the Ship to find out what your contribution has supported. A massive thank you from all the team and the Young Pirates.”
If you’re still keen to snap up and artistic bargain and help a great charity in the process, please pop by 17b and have a look at what’s on offer. It’s your chance to buy a limited edition, signed print for £10 – can’t say no to that!
