The Zero Emissions Network will launch next week, bringing together business leaders to brainstorm breakthrough solutions for a more sustainable Shoreditch.

The ZEN launch event will be held on Wednesday 17 July at Floripa on Great Eastern Street, EC2A.

Attendees will be able to try out cargo bikes and cast an eye over the latest electric vehicles available for trial. Drinks and canapés should tempt the thirsty to the event, where an award-winning environmental strategist will share top tips.

The event will run as follows:

12:00pm-2:00pm: lunch time session with cargo bikes, electric vehicles and pedal-powered music

 5:00pm-6:15pm: cargo bikes, electric vehicles, drinks, canapés and other displays

 6:15pm: Cllr Feryal Demirci, Hackney Cabinet member for Neighbourhoods will welcome and introduce the keynote speaker

6:20pm-6:30pm: Keynote speaker – Simon Graham, winner of the Guardian Sustainable Business Awards 2013 for Engaging Employees

6:30pm-8:00pm: Networking and interactive display stands from Simon Graham and project partners

So far, 28 local businesses have signed up to the network with the shared aim of improving local air quality and develop sustainable business practices. That’s 28 members before the launch! The pollution-free sky is the limit.
